              Regional Economics Perspectives

Dear  ,

Faced with the "Euro Crisis" and the still fragile and slow financial recovery of USA, First Worldwide Economy, it is occurring a very interesting phenomenon in Latin America.

The growing strengthening regarding commercial exchange with Asia, specially China, second Trade Partner after USA, is undeniable.

Likewise, it is also true that the commercial relations in a subregion level are strengthening in a positive manner, as per the Interamerican Development Bank report, being the trade exchange among South American countries as the most intense lately, situation which causes an interesting commercial exchange among Latin American countries and a lower dependence on the commercial exchange of the Latin American economies with the industrialised countries at present.

According to the Inter-american Development Bank (IBD) (Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo), the integration South-South, specially the trade with China, seems to have compensated the weak demand of the industrialised countries.

Up to date, the total of export sales from Latin America to China, increased near to  50%.

In a Subregion level and in the same positive manner, the export sales both of Mercosur and the Andean Community increased to  28% in 2010.

According to the preliminary estimations of the Integration And Trade sectors of IDB, the export sales from Latin America to the countries worldwide, increased to 29%(projected) in 2010, reaching approximately US$853 thousand millions, and reversing almost completely the fallen of  23% reported in 2009.

In the Andean Community, the export sales of Peru increased to 35.2%,  Ecuador to 28.8%,  Bolivia to 27.5% and Colombia to 21.2%. it is projected that the Intra-Andean trade would have increased to 36% during 2010.

Kindest Regards,
