AnSem announces the appointment of Dirk Logie as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Logie will succeed Mr. Stefan Gogaert, who will continue to serve the company as its Chief Strategy Officer.
Mr. Logie, a former Philips Semiconductors' VP, is a senior executive with broad international experience in leading semiconductor businesses to growth and success. Mr. Logie was previously CEO of Chipidea Semiconductors in Leuven, prior to its acquisition by MIPS Technologies. >>> Read more...

AnSem develops a MEMS driver ASIC for a novel contact lens sensor

AnSem is developing a Mixed-Signal ASIC allowing to monitor eye pressure continuously during 24 hours. This ASIC is being developed for Sensimed AG, a Swiss company specialized in design, development and commercialization of integrated micro-systems for medical devices.
Sensimed's novel contact lens solution, called SENSIMED Triggerfish®, monitors intraocular pressure for detection and help in personalizing treatment of glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease affecting about 4% of the population over 40 years of age and leading to blindness unless adequate treatment is provided early on.
